'Lilium euxathum'

Item# ls368
Archive Item
(Species / Wild Lily)
A very rare deep yellow color form considered until recently to be 'Lilium nanum var. flavidum', it, as well and var. flavidum, are difficult subjects in the garden. As with nanum which seems to flourish in Scottish gardens, winter rot from wet soils usually will do it in. This lily was at one time classified as Nomocharis. The main difference between 'Lilium nanum var. flavidum' and 'Lilium euxathum' is that 'Lilium euxathum' is a bit taller and deeper in yellow coloration.
