Imagine the luscious colors of the tropics to appreciate this engaging Trumpet lily. Warm apricot-yellow blooms are trimmed with hot melon-pink on petal edges and reverses, giving the closed buds a copper tone. Color resists fading better than other melon-colored Trumpet lilies. Bred by our friend, the late Don Egger, this lily might be his best. 3 to 4 feet. July. Very Limited Supply.
As with 'Copper King', the bulbs being offered this season are from a few bulblets salvaged following flooding of a field years ago where thousands of bulbs washed out into the Willamette River when it broke through its banks just south of Independence, Oregon. These are classified as large, flowering size bulbs having produced 1 to 3 blooms this year.
