'Lilium regale album' - Species or Wild Lily
Flower Description: (Native of China) White outer coloring, butter yellow throat. Same fragrance as L. regale and easy to grow. A must for the all-white garden; blooms with the earliest Oriental lily cultivars, but precedes 'Casablanca.' 3 to 4 Feet. July Flowering. Very Fragrant.
Though the photo here is a little grainy, it is one of our favorites. Taken over 25 years ago of our daughter while in the species lily bed, the original slide never came back from the printer, thus this old catalog scan. Anne Marie was fascinated with the lilies as a little girl spending countless hours walking among them marveling at the colors and flower forms.
