'Kurni' - Oriental Hybrid Lily
Classification: Oriental Hybrid Lily Bulb(USDA Zones 5-9, colder climates w/winter mulch.)
Stock # 7313 - 'Kurni' - Oriental Lily Bulb
NEW FOR 2010 Named by the breeder for a fine Italian wine that goes for nearly $100. per bottle, this ‘Kurni’ will not set you back nearly as far, and when done flowering for the season, you simply wait for another appearance next season, no bottle to throw away!
The description of being an “over-the-top-red” wine also fits ‘Kurni’, the lily. Both are “exotically perfumed”, but alas, this lily can not be described as leaving you with a taste of ripe blackberries and milk chocolate, but then we are working on that.
‘Kurni’ is a deep blue-red with just a light trimming of white around the petal edges. Tests have shown that the amount of white seems to vary with temperature during bud formation. These upfacing flowers look great when surrounded with pure white Orientals such as ‘Siberia’ and our own ‘Garden Angel’. 3 to 4 Feet. July Bloom.
