Stock # 7033 - 'Striker' - Oriental Lily Bulb Whenever a new pink oriental is selected for garden trials, just by their very nature, you expect them to fade as all pink oriental lilies do. For every two dozen or so we select for garden trials, we thrill at the 1 or 2 that make it through the selection process. The 1 or 2 that will survive a Minnesota winter (with mulch), the humidity of Louisiana, or the blistering summer sun of Sacramento planting alongside a white house. Striker is that one! Though as with all pink Orientals, ‘Striker’ should be given some protection in the hot summer areas with light afternoon shade to prolong the color. These beauty has unusually wide, overlapping petals with just s few ruffles on the edges. It is the perfect lily for mixing with both the dark colored lilies like ‘Halifax’ or ‘Sumatra’ or planted in the white garden. All make ‘Striker’ even more pink in appearance and it intensifies their colors in return. Just a great all around lily. Reaching 3 to 4 Feet, ‘Striker’ blooms in mid to late July and into August in cooler areas.
