Classification: Trumpet/Aurelian Hybrid Lily (USDA Zones 5-10, the colder climates of this range require winter mulching)
An heirloom lily with fragrant white flowers blending to soft yellow inside and brownish-maroon on the petal reverses. These can sometimes reach a towering 8 feet if undisturbed for a few years. Expect first year growth to be a more modest 3 feet. This is a strain of similar-looking plants grown from seed, so expect some variance in flower shape, size, and the intensity of outer markings. (This group does not contain bulbs of L. regale, as some companies are selling.) This is the true strain, raised from seed, bred from the original de Graaff selection, known as "M-12." Unless planted in full sun, you might stake the stems when they reach their full potential. 5 to 6 Feet. July.
Bulb Size - Our standard for bulbs of this lily cultivar ranges from Premium-size» (16/18 cm) to Exhibition-size» (over 20 cm). Click here for details.
