'Bonbini' - Orienpet Hybrid Lily Bulb

Bonbini' - Orienpet Hybrid Lily Bulb
Flower Description: The word Bonbini means "welcome" in the Papimiento language. The language itself more describes this flower that welcome does. A crazy mix of words from the Arawak Indian dialect, Spanish, Dutch, along with a confusing mixture of African dialects with a little Portuguese, English, and a smidgen of French thrown in, makes for one crazy language, almost as crazy as this Bonbini and its crazy color combination. Crazy yes, but it all works! (The extra photos show an individual flower and a stem with 12 flowers just starting to open.)

This is a very striking as well as attention grabbing lily to say the least. The delicate pink tracing outlining or "halo" in the center of each petal tends to fade in hot, direct sun. In our cool, NW climate, it has held up in full sun to light afternoon shade. In the warmer states, it is best planted in dappled sun throughout the day or light afternoon shade. 3 to 4 Feet and taller. July Flowering. Fragrant.

Bulb Size - Our standard for bulbs of this lily cultivar ranges from Premium-size (16/18 cm) to Exhibition-size (over 20 cm). Click here for details.

Classification: Orienpet Hybrid Lily Bulb (USDA Zones 5-9, colder climates w/winter mulch.)
