Gracing 10 acres of the Point Defiance Park Garden in Tacoma, Washington, this three day garden show showcases everything from window boxes to sweeping landscapes, including a Children's Pavilion, Lectures, Amateur Flower show, Arts & Crafts, Farmers Market, and of course, plant nurseries like B&D Lilies and Snow Creek Gardens. We are located under a double tent next to the beautifully landscaped duck pond, and thoroughly enjoy Mama ducks and babies scooting under our tables to check for any edibles in the early morning. Just follow your nose to our beautiful floral arrangements to take in the splendor of lilies in bloom. For your gardening pleasure, choose a pack of our “Late-bloom” Lily Bulbs,. ON SALE now, to flower in late August to early September with shorter stems that fit beautifully into containers. (Of course, you can only fool ‘em once, next year the bulbs will be their normal height and bloom earlier, but here’s your chance to extend the lily season this summer.) We do not ship bulbs past now, as the temperatures are getting too warm for safe delivery, but local customers in our mild climate can still put a few in the ground or containers, with enough time for the foliage to mature before winter. All of our bulbs are kept under proper conditions and are not grossly sprouted "leftovers" sold by other companies without cold storage, so you are assured of top quality blooms this summer and repeat bloom year after year. As always, a limited supply of our famous Daylily "Landscape Bundles" will also be available, subject to harvest. Also Tropical bulbs and plants that do well in our area or can be used as houseplants. Point Defiance Park has "Plant Porters" (local Scout troops) to transport your purchases to a pickup location, so you don't worry about carrying your garden treasures throughout the event. You may wish to bring a tarp or plastic shower curtain to protect your car trunk or an umbrella in case of light rain, but our booths are 100% under cover. Visit us first, before strolling through the gardens, then your purchases will be safely tucked in to the plant holding area for when its time to leave later in the day. Afternoon Tea - Attend in style. Do you have a reservation for Afternoon Tea (11:30 & 2:30) in the Pagoda? How about a lovely new hat to complete your ensemble? Dianna is bringing a few of her handmade, “High Tea” styles for your total immersion into this popular event. And no, you don’t need a dress or skirt to wear a fancy hat, there are sizes and styles for everyone, plus expert help on fitting and color selection.
