Straight from a family farm in Idaho, packaged with its own little scooper for precise control, this granulated manure compost is easy to use as either a midsummer or fall top dressing around your lily stems. Especially convenient for those bulbs grown in containers, use three scoops per 12 inch container. Water newly fertilized plants thoroughly to begin breaking down the nutrients. As your lilies are watered throughout the summer the 100% natural pellets will break down completely, adding a flush of organic matter to help keep your bulbs healthy. Popular in small urban gardens where it may be difficult to maintain a hot compost pile with animal manure or for an easy addition to potting soil, POOpeas™ help add trace minerals, reducing the need for chemical fertilizers. To make manure tea, simply dissolve 1 scoop of POOpeas™ into 12 ounces of water, stir occasionally for an hour or two and use as a soil drench. Packed into a sturdy plastic zip top bag, the scent of the dry pellets is warm earthy and not unpleasant, so it is also fine for indoor potted plants because the product soon becomes odorless when watered into soil. There is not much room left in the box for anything else when you order 3 bags (in a medium flat rate box) or 6 bags (in a large flat rate box), but a couple bags of catnip or poppy seeds can usually fit OK.
