| | 'Alusta' - Orienpet Hybrid LilyStock # 9056 - 'Alusta' - Orienpet Lily Bulb ‘Alusta’ is a Finnish word meaning “foundation” or “workbench”. Apply named, this lily has indeed been a foundation / workbench for many a breeding project. We offered ‘Alusta’ a number of years ago and then set it on the back burner in favor of what has become one of our best sellers over the years, ‘Conca d’ Or. Though sitting in the wings for years, every season we were drawn back to it as it came into flower. We feel that any lily that keeps coming back year after year and always stronger than the year before, needs to be spread throughout the garden world. This lily is persistent. As mentioned, it is similar in appearance to our ever popular ‘Conca d’ Or’, but it has a smaller flower and shorter stature making it perfect for the front of the garden and in borders. Whereas Conca often reaches 6 to 8 feet, ‘Alusta’ is a more demur 3 to 4 feet. The flowers are bright lemon with paler petal tips and have very good substance for long lasting beauty. Mid to late July / early August bloom. Bulb Size - Our standard for bulbs of this lily cultivar ranges from Premium-sizeª (16/18 cm) to Exhibition-sizeª (over 20 cm). Click here for details.
