Classification: Intercrossed species lily (USDA Zones 5-9, the colder climates of this range must provide winter mulching.)
A Tetraploid trumpet lily crossed with Lilium henryi, but in a more open shape than usual; valuable in Interspecific breeding programs. Named for the servant in the opera "Madame Butterfly", this hybrid produces flowers that are bright orange upon opening in cool weather, then lighten to white tips with an orange throat. Hot weaher will see more lemon yellow than orange in theoverall flower color. 3 to 4 Feet. July.
Bulb Size - Our standard for bulbs of some species ranges from Premium-size» (16/18 cm) to Exhibition-size» (over 20 cm) Cultivars like L. superbum are much smaller. Click here for details.
