'Fairy Firecracker' (Hemerocallis)

Foliage Type: EVERGREEN - Best type for the deep south or coastal regions with mild winters; foliage will stay nice almost year round. (USDA Zones 8-10 . Lows to 10 degrees F. will not kill roots, but plants will try to grow new foliage throughout winter as temperatures rise, then die back again with a deep, heavy freeze.

15" Midseason with rebloom. 2-3/4 inch blooms. Colorful, pink-toned red, blending to gold in the throat. Lots of buds on scapes, held high above foliage.

Plant Size - Plant size varies from 3 to 4 fans, dependent on season and state of growth. Most daylily plants shipped during summer will have larger, tougher fans, but will probably not bloom the same year. Daylilies delivered in early spring will have just begun to break dormancy, thus will tend to have smaller, more tender top growth and may develop flower buds later in summer. You can let the buds open, but for the first summer, it is suggested that the flowering scape (stem) be removed to allow the root system to settle-in faster.
