Foliage Type: DORMANT - Dies down to ground in winter. USDA Zones 3-10, lows to -40 deg F. Areas in the deep south or mild costal climates, choose Semi-evergreen or Evergreen cultivars for year round foliage. (Wadekamper, 1999) Dormant. 17" Midseason. Pale lemon to near white blooms, triangular in shape and 6 inches in size are held just above the foliage. There is a light seersucker texture on the slightly ruffled petals and the sepals are almost hidden. Throat is a darker shade of lemon and the filaments are also light in color, with just a bit of brown pollen for contrast. Nice variety for the pastel garden. Plant Size - Plant size varies from 2 to 4 fans, dependent on season and state of growth. Most daylily plants shipped during summer will have larger, tougher fans, but will probably not bloom the same year. Daylilies delivered in early spring will have just begun to break dormancy, thus will tend to have smaller, more tender top growth and may develop flower buds later in summer. You can let the buds open, but for the first summer, it is suggested that the flowering scape (stem) be removed to allow the root system to settle-in faster. |
