Are these bulbs and flowers toxic to my children and pets?

Native peoples reportedly ate L. columbianum bulbs (roasted) in the Pacific Northwest and L. auratum was consumed in Japan. As with any flower, be certain to use Organic methods for one year before using bloom or bulb in the kitchen and of course, avoid any sort of chemical spray. (P.S. White-colored Asiatic bulbs are reported to be tasty but starchy; most of the purple-colored Trumpets are somewhat bitter.)
